Stretch and Strengthen is a slower, gentle introduction back to fitness and yoga. You will increase basic body awareness, work on fluid flexibility, while fusing mind and body. The first phase employs the core-strengthening aspects of standing and seated positions to improve balance and flexibility. The strengthening aspect that will sculpt both the lower and upper body muscle groups. The second phase refocuses your mind and energy towards elongation and breath. Stretch and Strengthen bridges the gap between physical and basic body energy fields, and leaves you stronger and more balanced in body and soul. Enjoy a 45-minute YASA-style flow, balanced by 45 minutes of Yin Yoga. During the Yin portion of the class, students will explore longer holds, fewer poses and work with subtle body energy to balance their yang practice. A relaxing class where students will explore body energy through a sequence of floor postures. The poses are held longer, sometimes supported by props to improve flexibility and relax the mind. Deep stretch is the perfect balance to an active yang practice. Suitable for all levels.
This class is a unique blend of therapy ball massage, corrective exercises and conscious Vinyasa flow. Sequencing targets a specific area of the body or a central theme in order to dig deep and develop greater awareness and mobility. Roll out of this class feeling renewed and rejuvenated. Flow and Roll will teach you to put the power of self-massage in your own hands using therapy balls to release your myofascia from head to toe. This one hour class is the optimal combination of workout and relaxation. The first half of class builds heat through core strengthening and a light-hearted vinyasa flow while the second half of class focuses on lengthening and releasing the muscles through deep stretch and therapy ball techniques. You will feel better in your body and improve your performance on and off the yoga mat. No yoga experience necessary and therapy balls provided.
